I'll get by with a little help from my friends - that means you! :)

My hubby and I are about to celebrate our 4th anniversary.
{Awwwwww. . . .}
I know, exciting right?!

But I am at a complete loss as to what to give/do for him!
One year I made him a scrapbook, so thats out.
I've made him photo books, Mix cd's, coupon books etc.

I'm starting to feel like this. . .

So I thought, "there are so many brilliant and talented women out there that I'm bound to get some totally fab ideas if but ask for help!"
So HELP!!
If anybody has done anything for their man that was a total hit or has any ideas you'd like to share with little ol' me. . . I'd LOVE it!

Hoping I wont go crazy,

According to tradition there are "types" of gifts for each anniversary. We just do one gift for each other based on what the tradition is for that numbered anniversary. For our 1st anniversary it was paper and we bought a nice painting on a trip and had it framed and put it above our headboard. For our 2nd it was cloth and I did a cross stitch of our wedding flowers and had it framed. Our third is this year, but we already know it is crystal so we are on the lookout for a nice vase or anything else that seems special-ish. Fourth is fruit, flowers, or appliances... Does he have a fancy saw or electric screwdriver? If not, why not plant a fruit tree or rose bushes you can hopefully enjoy for years to come? Well, that is if you have a greener thumb than I do ;) Good luck! Let us know what you end up doing. Gift shopping for husbands is tough for ANY occasion!

Hi there! Visiting from TGC Blog Hop. I like Amy's idea. Cute. I've also done like Leigh said. One year for Valentine's day, I made a list of 100 things I love about him, cut out strips of paper, put one thing on each strip, and put them all in a jar. He loved it, and still reads them.

I made my husband a "Joy Jar" many years ago -- and it still brings us both joy.

Take a large jar -- the bigger the better -- and decorate it. We are into Disney so mine was decorated with a Disney theme. It also says "Joy Jar."

Take a smaller jar and also decorate it and write "Joy Jar" on it. Fill the small jar up with strips of paper that have happy memories -- or other things that bring you -- as a couple -- joy. For us, it was the birth of grandchildren, when I got my first photo published, when we found baby turtles in our pond (we had two adult turtles but never imagined babies!), a trip to Disneyland..... I attached a note to the small jar that says "We will never run out of joy -- and this jar will never be empty." My husband pulls one joy out every day -- two if I am having a tough day - and we remember. Then we take the joy strip and put it in the big jar. It's fun to look through the joys in the big jar too -- a good way to spend a quiet afternoon.

Whenever I am in the mood -- or when it looks like it is getting empty -- I fill the little joy jar up with more joys.

This gift does take some time -- but not too much. But he loves it -- and so do I.

When a little girl at my school was diagnosed with cancer, my class made her a joy jar that included jokes and riddles. She loved it. She's doing better now but we still add joys to her jar (send them home to her mom) on a regular basis.
