Crayons aren't just for coloring. . .

Here is a simple but oh-so-cute craft.
I've seen these as a decoration for a kids room, but I made this one for my sis-in-law for her birthday cuz she works in a school and I thought it would be cute on her desk.
I started with a piece of paper with a big P printed as light as I could make it, with Mrs. Page underneath.
Next I got a box of crayons, layed them on the paper and cut them to size.
Then I hot glued them in place, put them in my shadow box, and there you have it!
Cute huh?
I wish I had a reason to make one of these for myself! :)

  2. AH! We really ARE kindred spirits! I, at this very moment, have 4 boxes of crayons (I might need more!) waiting to be turned into this very thing...4 of them to be exact that say PLAY for my girls play room. It looks like this is a regular frame that you took the glass out of..did you or is this a shadow box? I haven't made them because I've been looking for the perfect shadow box frames...but I was thinking just regular frames might do without the glass if I hot glue the suckers down really well...

  4. How have I not noticed before now that you have such a creative blog for all your crafty ideas??

You have no idea how proud I am of you (which is maybe a weird thing to say, but I am)

Also, I LOVE my crayons! :) I hung it outside my office as my name-plate and have gotten TONS of compliments. The only weird thing is hearing people say, "I like your P" hehe :)
